Mac vs PC

Mac vs PC – I could give a shit.  For any panty waisted Mac fanboys reading this now, I’m not here to criticize that shiny white computer you’re so proud of.  That gleaming exemplification of your abstruse creative mind that you paid hundreds of dollars too much for.  I actually admire the computer, the machine itself.  It looks and runs great! Hell OSX is a nice piece of work too, I’ve got no beef with Apple’s engineering team – they make good stuff for sure.

Why, you ask, can Apple suck my proverbial ballsack then? Well, let’s look at their website:

Scroll up past the nauseating image of the new iPod nano, and click ‘Store’.  Click on one of their iMac desktops, like the $1,199 model.  Take a look at the hardware specs. Now go to:

And put together an Inspiron system, with identical hardware.  Actually, Dell doesnt have an 8x DVD burner or 250GB Hard disk option, they’ll make you roll with the 16x DVD burners that came out 2 years ago, and a larger 320GB drive.  When the dell system is all built, check out the price…go on, take a look:

I hear a lot of MacFolks flogging Microsoft all the time for the price they charge for Windows…but it looks like anyone who buys that iMac system is paying a hefty premium for OSX and a shiny white case with an apple on it.

Vista Home Premium cost $200 – based on the hardware costs alone, you’re paying a good $600 for OSX!  If you just bought a Mac, and you dont feel a least a little sick – just click HERE and don’t bother reading the rest.

 There really is no winner in the Mac vs PC debate…they’re both pretty much identical machines under the covers.  The only real ‘loser’ is the sucker who bought into Apple’s marketing schtick and thinks they have something special and exclusive in the PC world.  YOU HAVE AN INTEL BASED PC – with a $600 operating system that doesn’t do anything unique, other than run the limited array of applications that are OSX specific.

  1. WTF…I guess you’re right about the hardware being the same but I’d gladly pay more money for OSX! Its SO much better than Windows!

  2. Well, you’re of course entitled to your opinion.
    However, we MacHeads prefer something that doesn’t act as a huge ‘virus magnet’. You say Dells are cheaper?
    Heck, I can build a PC for less than they want.
    I prefer Apple products for the same reason I prefer Japanese cars. They’re just better!

    Nothing wrong with buying what you like! The ‘virus magnet’ bit is quite overrated however. There are some great free programs available for the Windows OS that will keep a PC virus and spyware free:

    The ‘PC Virus Magnet’ threat has been exaggerated by anti-virus software manufacturers as much as it has been by Apple, sure they do exist, but it’s not a problem for people who know what they are doing.

    Furthermore, the only reason why there are so many viruses for Windows PC’s is that 95% of all the personal computers on the planet are based on Windows! As Mac OS increases in popularity it will no doubt suffer the same fate – just hope that there are plenty of great 3rd party development groups that offer free protection when that time comes.

    And true – you CAN build your own PC for less than you could buy a Mac or a Dell! Even run OSX on it if you want to…certainly the way to go if you like to tinker around.

  5. You know I would, if you had balls. Considering you’re a Mac freak, they are most undoubtedly infinitesimally small, if they even exist.

    Maybe you can use your Mac’s underperforming GPU to try and draw a pair for ya!

  8. My Mac Mini may be a bit underpowered and a little on the expensive side, but with OSX it will run circles around anything up to twice as fast.

    Popular Mechanics magazine recently had a Mac vs PC article. The Mac and the PC had the same specs, but the Mac was able to run Windows Vista faster than the PC. Games? Mac dominates.

    Benchmarks don’t lie. Get your facts straight.
